Upper secondary (ages 16-17)

Introduction

Understanding what students are doing online and how they use online technologies is a valuable starting point for teaching cybersafety. The ACMA has two resources for upper secondary 16–17 to assist teachers in finding out about students’ online activities.

  • research about young people’s technology use
  • a Student technology audit. Educators can use this to establish how their students use computers and other technologies.

The ACMA recommends that teachers for this age level explore the Middle secondary resources as many of them are relevant to upper secondary students. These include What are students doing online- Middle secondary and the Student technology audit.
