Approach to cybersafety

Web Safety Kit for Schools provides materials comprising this kit are from the State of Victoria Department of Education and Early Childhood Development website, 'Working with the Web'. They are a collection of Word Documents that Tasmanian schools can adapt to suit their contexts.

The Tasmanian Department of Education has developed a web safety in schools policy to ensure that Tasmanian students participate safely in technology based learning, and use technology responsibly. The policy is available at:

DET also encourages the development of cybersafe classrooms. These are classrooms ‘...where every effort is made to protect students from risks associated with online environments such as cyber bullying and cyber crime. Students are explicitly taught about online risks, protection and prevention strategies.’ More information is available at:
