Guide to online safety

Guide to online safety

An interactive cybersafety guide for parents is now online on the Cybersmart website bringing parents the information they need on current topics such as cyberbullying, sexting and protecting personal information. The guide uses videos to provide a snapshot of each issue including scenarios which demonstrate how the issue may occur. Each video offers simple, practical tips that parents can use with their children and teenagers. These can be viewed both on screen and be downloaded for later use.

The cybersafety guide for parents is a time effective resource with each video running for less than two minutes.

The guide is complemented by a suite of six brochures for parents which can also be downloaded from the Cybersmart website. These brochures cover cyberbullying, sexting, socialising on the internet or social networking, dealing with offensive content, mobile phone safety as well as a general guide to internet safety.

Each brochure is also available in Arabic, Italian, Greek, Chinese and Vietnamese.
