The Australian Communications and Media Authority today launched the ‘Cybersafety Outreach – Pre-Service Teacher’ program at Deakin University’s Burwood campus in Melbourne. This new program is a first in Australia and is designed for education students in their final year at university.

An extension of the highly successful Cybersafety Outreach – Professional Development for Educators program, this interactive and cutting edge program is aimed at equipping pre-service teachers with skills and knowledge to educate their future students about cybersafety. This is in keeping with the Australian Government’s broad commitment to cybersafety education. Topics covered include cyberbullying, sexting, safe social networking, identity protection and digital citizenship.
