Safer Internet Day 2015 - Virtual classrooms
Using the latest developments in online shared learning, Cybersmart is working with education departments and the Independent and Catholic education sectors across Australia to offer an expanded Virtual Classroom program in 2015.
The program will offer live, free and interactive presentations to students on a variety of topics.
On SID2015 we will premiere a brand new presentation—‘Being a Good Bystander’.
Being a good bystander
Date: Tuesday 10 February 2015
Audience: Years 4, 5 and 6 students
The session aims to equip students with strategies to deal with cyberbullying if they experience it.
The presentation will:
- guide students through a realistic student scenario
- encourage students to consider the impact of their actions when posting photos and comments
- encourage students to be ‘good’ bystanders if they witness cyberbullying
- provide opportunities to discuss appropriate actions when being a good bystander.
With the help of classroom teachers, the presentation will feature interactive questions and discussions.
